What’s a place you visited that felt like home?
For me, there are actually two places.
Bakersfield, California.
There was something about being there that made me feel like I belonged. I can’t really explain it. Sometimes you can visit a place and something about it just feels familiar, even when you’ve never lived there.
Then there’s The Bahamas.
The Bahamas feels like the kind of place I could actually live. I love peace and tranquility, and there’s something about being surrounded by the ocean, beautiful scenery, and a slower pace that speaks to me.
So I guess I have two versions of home:
One place made me feel like I belonged.
The other made me feel like I could breathe.
Maybe home isn’t always one specific place.
Sometimes it’s simply the place where something inside you says, “I could see myself here.”
