What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?
When I was younger, I always played pretend with my dolls. Teaching was always a passion of mine. Each doll would have a place and a name. I would have a shoe box as my desk. Paper on the shoe box and a pen in my hand. I would pretend to do roll call and teach them whatever lesson came to mind.
When I became an adult, I let the world around me influence me. Influence my thoughts.
My hopes
My dreams
And then I entered into a career that I never truly enjoyed.
Nursing
I’ve been a nurse for 14 years and each year I came to terms that this is not my passion.
If anything it is the death of me.
Anguish
I thought to myself, how happy would I be now if I pursued my dreams.
Along the way, I’ve picked up writing which is another passion.
So here I am finally stepping into uncharted territory, and pursuing that which I love many years later.
The lesson?
It’s never too late to Do What You Love
In addition to this. Start budgeting now and use your money wisely. Save, invest, and build up retirement funds. You don’t want to work your entire life.
