What do you love now, that you hated when you were younger?

In school I hated History class. It as boring and too much information to process. I couldn’t get into the subject no matter the teaching style. I felt it to be useless. Until recently

I reflected on something I was told as a young child. The story of my great-great grandmother. This memory came after a dream.

In the dream, I saw someone who appeared to be an ancestor. She was chained to another. Boarding a ship. And suddenly, she was standing next to me, telling me a story.

She was trying to show me a tree. A tree that was centered in the middle of a forest. She pointed me to that tree and told me how she was SA’d at the age of 4.

That’s when I remembered something! My great grandmother told me that her mother was Creole French. That she taught her mother English while her mother taught her French. I pondered on that. Wondering why didn’t her mother know English.

I went down a rabbit hole. I discovered, and this is apparently, some of my ancestors were from France and some from Belgium. So it made me ponder on the dream as I went back through the forefathers.
