Take captive Every thought

What’s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?

There were times when I had this thought. A thought I knew was not something I would normally tell myself. I wasn’t battling depression. In fact I was at one of my most happiest moments. I was sitting outside on my balcony on a nice sunny summer day. I could smell the fresh cut grass. I could see the sage that my daughter had burned on the patio. I don’t burn sage so I’m not sure where she got that idea from. But here I am sitting outside, listening to my music. And all of a sudden I hear this voice in my mind. It wasn’t frightening; it wasn’t friendly. It was subtle. “Jump off!” I immediately rejected that voice. That thought. I didn’t entertain it. Besides I lived on the third floor. Instead I ignored that thought.

Every time I have any negative thoughts, I ignore them. Why? Because I have a word in my heart. A word that says I have a purpose and a plan. A word that teaches me right from wrong. Just from unjust actions.
