I’ve Never Considered Myself a Reader

What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?

If I had to choose one habit that has improved my life, it would be reading.

I’ve gained so much knowledge through books. They’ve given me insight that has changed the way I think, the way I respond, and even the way I teach.

As I’ve studied history, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the people, places, and cultures found in Scripture. That knowledge has strengthened my ministry and given me greater confidence when teaching God’s Word.

Reading has also made me a better writer. The more I read, the more I’ve learned about storytelling, pacing, dialogue, and finding my own voice as an author. Every book teaches me something different, and those lessons find their way into my own writing.

For most of my life, I never considered myself a reader. I’d rather watch a movie than pick up a book. But over the past several months, I’ve developed a love for reading, and it’s been one of the most impactful habits I’ve ever adopted.

It’s amazing how one simple habit can deepen your understanding, strengthen your faith, and shape the person and the writer you are becoming.
