The One Book I keep Returning to

Which book have you read more than any other?

If I had to choose one book I’ve read more than any other, it would be the Bible.

There are plenty of books I hope to read one day, but the Bible is the one I continually return to. No matter how many times I read it, I always discover something I overlooked before.

What captivates me most isn’t that it’s filled with perfect people. It’s quite the opposite. It’s the story of flawed men and women who wrestled with fear, failure, pride, doubt, and sin; yet God still called them, corrected them, and used them for His purposes. Their stories remind me that God doesn’t wait for perfection before He begins His work.

I especially enjoy the Gospels. Reading about Jesus never grows old. I love watching Him walk with authority, speak with wisdom, and command demons that had no choice but to obey. The same crowds that questioned Him witnessed miracles they couldn’t explain.

And then there’s the ending.

The One who was mocked, beaten, and crucified didn’t remain in the grave. He rose with all authority, proving that what looked like defeat was actually victory.

The Bible reminds me that God is both the Lion and the Lamb. He is merciful and gracious, but His grace should never be mistaken for weakness.

That’s why it’s the one book I’ll never grow tired of reading.
